Funny Names

I just thought that I would share some of the funny names of real life customers that have recently come into my bank.
1- Robert "Bob" Leblaugh- Really his name is Bob Leblaugh. Say it fast.
2-Baby Johnson- His mom thought that the doctors had named her son. Poor man
3-Large Hooker- You might think that I am joking, but I am not. Incredible.

My idiotic escapades at work

Well, I figured since I have built such a fantastic facade about how professional I am I figure that I better share some funny stories from work.
1-Every day at work I have to report my banking center's sales numbers at 1:00 pm and at the end of the day. This reporting is done on a shared intranet site for all B of A Managers. About a week ago the last question that was asked on this report was this:
What is your TOP priority?
If you don't know the bank we have hundreds of acronyms: BCM, ABCM, TOS, SSS, PB, HOBA, NA, LCR, CTR, TRM, TRM QCC, CMM, CME, MPM, MGM, RP, CBP, BCCR, BCICR, HELOC, just to name a few. Since I am new in the bank, I rarely know what is going on, so I didn't read it as top, I read it as T. O. P. so for my answer, I asked what TOP was. My bosses laughed for hours.
2-A BCM is a Banking Center Manager, and ABCM is and Assistant BCM. Well, I had emailed my bosses that my ABCM was ready for a promotion, and she replied with a clarifying question in regards to which position. Unknowingly I replied with this, "The ABCM, she doesn't want to be a BUM." Instead of BCM. Brilliant
3-And not to be outdone. My banking center is located in a rougher part of town. We have needed new furniture for years now and finally recieved it. Without fail within three days a poor old lady came to the bank, sat down and pooped her pants. As she left, she left a trail all the way out the door and completely soiled our new chair. I took a picture but my phone died so I can't post it. Just thought I would share.

Resolving the New Year

I have always found it interesting that I set New Year's Resolutions, and then I never keep them. So this year I decided to set my Resolutions with timelines. Surprisingly, I am still on pace to do them. It never ceases to amaze me that when we set goals and are specific with these goals then we do a lot better then if we hadn't been as specific. The Lord works the same way with us. We told him what we wanted and he set up a plan where specific things needed to be accomplished.
We are trying to close on a house at the end of this month. We are pretty excited about that. Sorry it was just a ramble. I haven't posted in a while and thought that it was time.

Keegan Noble Lainhart

Well, this posting is long overdue. It is amazing the tender mercies the Lord gives us. On October 16, 2008 at 11:52 am a beautiful baby boy was born to BreighAn at Sunrise hospital. He was born at 34 and 1/2 weeks. He was 3 lbs. and 15 oz. and 12 inches long. He got his height and weight problems from his dad. He had some major health problems and because of this we didn't think that we were ever going to be able to hold him. On the 21st of October BreighAn and I made the difficult decision to take our son off of his life support machines on the 23rd of October. That is not an easy decision. Thank goodness for prayer and the sweet power of the Comforter. That night after giving our son a name and a blessing we were watching him in the NICU and the nurse asked us if we would like to hold our son. BreighAn started crying and I sat there dumbfounded. We didn't think that was a possibility. With the help of four nurses, all holding wires, tubes, and other machinery at the precise angle and length we were able to hold our son for about fourty-five minutes. What a blessing. Words cannot express the love that we feel for our son and the Lord. I mentioned to BreighAn that I will never complain about midnight feedings, crying, or diaper changes. What a joy just to have your son around. We feel so blessed to have had our son for one week. On the 23rd at 3:22 pm Keegan went home to his Heavenly Father. He has a work to do. We buried him in Thayne, Wyoming the following Monday. We love our son, and we love the Lord. How thankful we are to be members of His church and have the sealing power of the priesthood in holy temples. We also wanted to thank all of the support that we received from all the loving family members.

Conference Blessings

Conference weekend is my favorite weekend of the year. It never fails, whatever I am searching for, I am given through numerous conference talks. Elder Uchtdorf's talk last night reminded me of Elder Hugh B Brown's Current Bush talk. How wonderful it is to have a loving God to direct us, or cut us down and be our gardener, so that we can lift where we stand and help others around us.
This last week we sold our house in Utah. It is nice to finally begin moving on. BreighAn and I are going to wait a little bit before we try to buy a house of our own.
Yesterday I went and watched Aaron play a basketball game. I love how sports can be a training ground for life. Aaron is so athletic and full of potential it is amazing. Yesterday was just one of those days that comes when you play basketball that everything goes wrong. The only basket that he made was for the other team. He had three fouls in the first half, and his team lost by nearly fifty points. In life no matter how talented and hard we work, sometimes things go completely different than we had imagined. The important thing isn't to sulk, or to beat up on ourselves. The lesson learned is that we can write that off as a bad afternoon, or a bad quarter. As long as the next quarter, or game, we improve upon our last efforts. The Lord is more concerned with the direction we are heading than he is with our position on the "ladder." I love being part of a family that has pushed each of us to never settle for mediocrity. To have the individualism to succeed at whatever we chose. We have had great parents. Our parents are great because they have been humble enough to realize that they needed to follow great leaders like we are listening to this weekend. That's why I love Conference weekend. It is almost like getting the other team's game plan and ours for the next six months. By following it, I know we'll be successful.

We caved.

Well, BreighAn and I decided to start a blog. In time there will be pictures and other fun things on this blog. BreighAn did most of the work until she decided that she had had enough for the first day and now she told me to finish it. We are expecting a cute little boy November 22 of this year. We can't wait for Keegan to be part of our family.

Thanks for visiting.
